San Antonio B-Cycle and S.M.A.R.T. are looking for a new design for the B-Cycle basket panels and are asking area artists to design it. They are hosting a contest open to all artists and the winning design will be reproduced on B-Cycle baskets.
Interested artists can submit their artwork from now until the end of the month for a chance to have their design on display as well as other prizes. For full contest rules visit San Antonio B-Cycle. The contest is divided into three categories:
- 17 years old and under
- 18-25 years old
- 26 years old and over
Participants need to photograph their artwork and submit the photo to email@example.com. B-Cycle staff will vote for the top 15 pieces in each age group and those pieces will be judged on November 9 by Andy and Yvette Benavides. They are the owners of the 1906 Gallery and directors of S.M.A.R.T. This judging will be on Second Saturday at the 1906 Gallery located on 1906 S Flores. Each age category will have three winners:
- 1st Place: Artwork on 5 bikes + B-cycle annual membership ($60 value) & t-shirt + $50 Bike World gift card
- 2nd Place: Artwork on 5 bikes + B-cycle annual membership ($60 value) & t-shirt + $25 Bike World gift card
- 3rd Place: Artwork on 5 bikes+ B-cycle annual membership ($60 value) & t-shirt
