Samuel L. Jackson rips into reporter, 'I'm not Laurence Fishburne'

Samuel L. Jackson ripped into Sam Rubin who is billed as the "entertainment reporter" for KTLA and has won awards for his reporting. He wasn't going to get an award from Jackson after he confused him with actor Laurence Fishburne during a recent interview.

To Jackson's defense, the guy should have done his homework before asking Jackson how he liked a commercial when it was Fishburne who was in the ad. According to Entertainment Tonight on Feb. 10, once Rubin asked the fatal question of how Jackson liked his Super Bowl commercial, Rubin was a sitting duck.

The entertainment reporter couldn't get a word in edgewise as he profusely tried to apologize. "Your as crazy as the people on Twitter," Jackson said to Rubin.

Jackson kept them coming, one reprimand after another saying:

“We don’t all look alike! We may be all black and famous, but we don’t all look alike!”

“You’re the entertainment reporter for this station? And you don’t know the difference between me and Laurence Fishburne?”

“That must be a very short line for your job outside there.”

“Oh heeeelll no. Really?!”

Jackson was relentless, leaving Rubin drowning with no life boat in sight. Jackson continued with:

“There’s more than one black guy doing commercials. I’m the ‘What’s in your wallet?’ black guy. He’s the car black guy. Morgan Freeman is the other credit card black guy. You only hear his voice, though, so you probably won’t confuse him with Laurence Fishburne.”

He continued yet again with:

“I’ve actually never done a McDonald’s or Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial. I know that’s surprising.”

According to Entertainment Tonight, it seems as if Jackson and Fishburne have been confused for one another before by reporters, so maybe this is a sore spot for Jackson. The reporter hosting an interview should have had all his ducks in a row when ready to question the iconic actor. This could have been avoided altogether.
