Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders returns to 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may be affected by the "Uprising" of HYDRA (especially with the shocking climatic ending of last night's episode), but it won't be going down-"Hill", as Cobie Smulders will reprise her role as Maria Hill in an upcoming episode set to air on April 29, according to Marvel.

Since the summer of 2012, Cobie has been in The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and last fall's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series opener as Maria Hill, the right-hand woman of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), the director of the covert government agency and creator of the Avengers Initiative.

Now that HYDRA has taken over S.H.I.E.L.D., Hill has been working alongside billionaire/armored Avenger Tony Stark. However, she will soon clash with Coulson (Clark Gregg), Fury's "one good eye" who's on a mission to uncover the secrets of the shadowy organization that he has dedicated his entire life to.

And speaking of Fury, it has been confirmed that Samuel L. Jackson will reprise the role in the season (or series?) finale. As master super-spy Nick Fury, the Oscar-nominated superstar has been at the forefront of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since "Phase One": responsible for putting together Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, and Hawkeye into becoming the Avengers.

Smulders and Jackson will appear alongside "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Already in production, the film will be released on May 1, 2015.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 8pm on ABC.
