On Thursday, Android market leader Samsung finally revealed their new flagship Android phone, the Galaxy S4. While the device doesn't have all the futuristic features that were rumored before launch, it does have some pretty cool technology packed in, like the ability to control functions like music playback and picture viewing with various waves and gestures (without touching the screen), a 13 megapixel camera, and a 1080p 5-inch Super AMOLED screen. A screen like that should be a joy to watch movies on.
The latest Galaxy product is not exactly revolutionary in the design department, since it looks a lot like the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2, but maybe that was the intent, because it actually seems a blending of the two when you look at them all together.
According to ABC News, the S4 is scheduled for release on all the major U.S. Carriers (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, & Sprint) sometime during the second quarter of the year. No price has been quoted yet.
However, you may be able to get one for free if you are will to deal with some marketing emails from Samsung Mobile. The handset manufacturer posted a sweepstakes of sorts on their website offering the chance of winning one of the new smartphones if you sign up for email updates.
