Samsung has finally released Galaxy S5 Active today at AT&T, after the phone had been previously announced, but without an actual release date.

The phone, retains the rugged look of the Galaxy S4 Active, but this time around, there are no missing features from the non-Active model. The Galaxy S5 Active has a 5.1 AMOLED HD screen, 16-megapixel front camera and fingerprint sensor. The device is of course water resistant as well as shock resistant and dust proof. Also unlike the regular Galaxy S5, the GS5 Active includes some metallic details, which is surely a welcome addition.

Samsung has added what they call a "convenience key" on the edge of the phone that will boot up all apps considered "outdoor apps", such as maps and those related to fitness.

The device has a 2800mAh removable battery, runs on a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM and comes with 16GB of internal memory, though you can expand it with a microSD card for an additional 128GB. The GS5 Active is preinstalled with Android 4.4 KitKat.

The phone is available in Titanium Grey and Camo Green colors, as well as Ruby Red. It's available for $199.99 on a 2-year contract or for $25/mo using AT&T Next for 26-months and no contract.
