The war between Samsung and Apple is not a well kept secret. The many lawsuits between the two companies have been enough proof to show their dislike for each other. The new Samsung ad during the Super Bowl, for the first time, did not attack Apple sort of, according to All Things D on Feb. 3.
The Samsung teaser for their Super Bowl advertisement did go after Apple in a very subtle way. The thing is, their actual ad that was aired during the Super Bowl did not even mention Apple.
Paul Rudd, Seth Rogen and Bob Odenkirk go on about possibilities for advertisements for the new Samsung. Apple was never even mentioned once.
The teaser ad did kind of make fun of Apple. Once again Rudd, Rogen and Odenkirk were going back and forth throwing out ideas. The teaser ad did discuss how certain words cannot be used in the Super Bowl ad due to trademark concerns.
Anyone who has kept up with the ongoing war with Apple and Samsung would pick up on the ad as a subtle way to make fun of Apple. Over the past few years Apple has sued Samsung over patent infringement. See the subtle jab to Apple. Pretty clever on Samsungs part.
