Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S5 are kicking off in the U.S. on Friday for select US carriers ahead of its official April 11 release date. AT&T, T-Mobile and US Cellular announced the price and pre-order date information for Samsung’s new highly anticipated flagship phone.
Both AT&T and U.S. Cellular announced Thursday (March 20), that pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S5 will begin on Friday. While AT&T indicates that it will be accepting pre-orders online and in-stores, U.S. Cellular said it will be accepting pre-orders online. New and existing contract customers due for an upgrade can own the Galaxy S5 for $200 with a new two-year agreement with either carrier. Customers also have the option of purchasing the Galaxy S5 for the full, no contract retail price of $650 at AT&T. The S5 is being sold by both carriers in two color schemes, Charcoal Black and Shimmery White.
AT&T is offering $50 discount for customers who want to also purchase the $300 Gear 2 or $200 Gear 2 Neo in a bundle with the Galaxy S5. Although AT&T is offering the Gear Fit for $200, the the promo specifies only the aforementioned smartwatches and ends on June 5, while supplies last. U.S. Cellular is offering a $50 Google Play coupon code to customers who pre-order the Galaxy S5 online.
T-Mobile said it will be kicking off its online and in-store Samsung Galaxy S5 pre-orders on March 24. Customers can get their hands on the S5 for no money down and 24 monthly payments of $27.50. The carrier did not specify the phone's color availability.
