Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone ready for sale on February 19 for $299.99

As big as they get—
For those on the hunt for the biggest display screen found on any smartphone, Samsung’s Galaxy Note is the one to look out for.

The device, who many have dubbed a smartphone-tablet hybrid, will be available for sale in the U.S. through AT&T on February 19 and will cost $299 with a two-year contract, and applicable data plan.

Remember the Palm Pilot?

Before the popluaity of the smartphone, the Palm Pilot PDA (personal digital assistant) was the rage in mid 90s.

The little device, while not a full-blown computer in your hand, provided many of the functions now commonly found on mobile devices today such as contact lists, address books, and calendars—all accessed via a stylus.

Plus, the Palm Pilot had a form of handwriting recognition in addition to a stylus operated keyboard.

The return of the stylus

The Samsung Galaxy Note is bringing back the stylus as an optional way to interface with the touch screen. Users use it to navigate, jot down notes, and even draw on the large 5.3-inch display.

Lots of features

The Samsung Galaxy Note has a good set of specs:
