After much media attention over the past few days, Sammy Sosa made his first public remarks about the color of his skin.  He said that he is using a bleaching cream that softens his skin, and that is why his pigmentation is changing. Sosa stated that he is not trying to look like Michael Jackson.

Sosa said that a combination of the face bleaching cream and the bright TV lights, made his face look whiter than it really is. The he joked and said "I’m going to market it, I’m a businessman."

He would not give the name of the bleaching cream, but did say that he got it in Europe. The media attention about the color change of his face has created an intense buzz over the past few days for the photos.

Like seriously, why can't people accept the color they are?

  • Alex 2 years ago

But he failed to say WHY he was using the cream. Just saying he was using it doesn't tell us anything.

I found a great dating site _______Millionaireromances.Com__________ .where you have the opportunity dreaming about dating a millionaire and make it true! u dont have to be a millionaire.but u can meet one. He was very handsome before, now - he does not look so good. That has got to be a LOT of cream/chemicals to use daily all over his body including his back. Once he gets to his preferred color, he cannot go into the sun. Plus he will age (or look like it) faster in the next few years. Shame.

I Dont Really Care About What He Does, But I Think He Should Just Say What Cream And Why Hes Using It.

Really, what is this obsession with what other people choose to do with their own bodies? And the ongoing obsession to drag Michael Jackson into every "negative" story.
MJ had vitiligo and opted to go whiter when the disease progressed, as many have, who've had the means to do so.
Disappointing that people think of MJ as "going white" instead of a victim of Vitiligo, which has no cure and leaves few choices for those who would prefer not to look like a giraffe.

Why can't people be happy with how God made them? I think he looks "ill." Just my opinion of course....

I really don't care what Sosa does, either, but what's with the obvious double standard? As SeptSpirit mentioned above, MJ had vitiligo which caused his depigmentation. Yet the media took every opportunity to question whether he was turning his back on his race and trying to "become white." Sosa says he's just trying to soften his skin and the media seems to say, "Oh, okay. Makes sense. Thanks for setting the record straight." I'm not saying they should pick Sosa apart; I just wish they had given the same benefit of the doubt to MJ.

IDK why people are even talking about this.. so what that his skin turned lighter he had stopped playing baseball and for that in my opinion he is hardly in the sun so i guess the dark tan he had faded away
