On Friday, October 18, the newly remodeled Sam's Club will open in Des Plaines. For 19 years, Sam's Club has been committed to reinvesting in the club, its members and the community. The store expects to provide everyone with savings on quality merchandise in an exceptional shopping environment.
The remodeled store includes an expanded fresh department.With the remodel comes an expanded fresh department. The new layout and additional offerings will make shopping for fresh produce, quality meats and home meal solutions simpler than ever.
“We’re excited about all the work that has been done on behalf of our members to enhance the shopping experience,” stated club manager Ryan Beth.
Since Sam's Club is committed to helping the community, the organization invests large sums of money in the area. In 2012 alone, Sam’s Club locations, Walmart stores and the Walmart Foundation provided nearly $30 million in community giving in Illinois. During the re-opening celebration, the store will present grants to local organizations including the American Legion, Child Serve, ISAVE, Operation North Pole and Small Business Advocacy.
Throughout the weekend, the store will present special events. Some of the weekend's highlights are : Ribbon Cutting Ceremony: Friday just before 9 a.m.; Chicago Bulls Cheerleaders appearance: Friday from 10 a.m. – noon; Jack Daniels Bottle Engravers: Friday from 1:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.; and Otis Wilson of the 1985 Bears : Saturday from 1-2:30 p.m.
The Sam's Club in Des Plaines is located at 101 W. Oakton St.
