"A Time to Kill" actor Samuel Jackson berated a Hollywood entertainment reporter during a live on-air interview for carelessly mistaking him for star of movie "The Matrix", Laurence Fishburne as reported by TMZ on Monday Feb. 10.
When the KTLA 5 reporter opened up his interview with Samuel Jackson with what he thought was a great opening question, "did you get a lot of reaction to that Superbowl commercial" his response was one that no reporter who thinks they have done their research ever wants to hear, "what Superbowl commercial? I didn't do a Superbowl commercial."
The commercial that KTLA 5 reporter was referring to is in fact a commercial for the Kia vehicle which featured the character "Morpheus" from the film "The Matrix" played by actor Laurence Fishburne. When the reporter realized what a huge and horrible mistake he had just made live on tv he quickly tried to divert the subject back to the upcoming film that Jackson is set to star in, "Robo Cop," but Jackson would not let him get a word in.
"Your as crazy as the people on Twitter. I am not Laurence Fishburne!" berated Jackson. "We don't all look alike." The reporter made several attempts to apologize but Jackson would not let up. "You're the entertainment reporter for this station and you don't know the difference between me and Laurence Fishburne?" Jackson continued to scold his interviewer in a slightly humorous way by mentioning that there is more than one black guy doing commercials. "What's in your wallet....I'm that guy," referring to the commercial that he actually played in as opposed to Morgan Freeman's credit card commercial or Laurence Fishburne's car commercial.
Pretty safe to say that if you are planning on interviewing Samuel Jackson in the future...please know who the man is before you start talking or he will definitely put you in your place.
