Saturday's 2013 NCAA football live stream online and televised slate of games will feature one of the most talked about college players on the planet these days, in Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel. The star QB played only a half in the week 1 win by the Aggies, as they defeated Rice. He'll be back in action this week as Sam Houston State visits A&M. The latest televised and live stream NCAA football game will be presented thanks to pay-per-view and ESPN's networks.
An SBNation.com report from Sept. 7 notes that the Sam Houston State Bearkats won their opening game against Houston Baptist 74-0. Meanwhile, Manziel connected on three touchdown passes on just eight attempts, and helped guide his team (part of the way) towards a 52-31 victory over the Rice Owls. Manziel was benched for a taunting penalty during the game, which led to him only playing part.
By now, most college football and sports fans are familiar with "Johnny Football" and his "money" taunt. The quarterback was also suspended for half the game against Rice due to his receipt of a "five-figure flat fee" for signing sports memorabilia with an autograph broker.
The Dallas Morning News reported on A&M coach Mike Sumlin's weekly news conference this past Tuesday, with Sumlin talking about managing Manziel's "passion" and making sure it's channeled appropriately. Sumlin told the media:
“Anybody who watches Johnny knows he plays with a lot of emotion and a lot of passion. Because of that, he gets into a gray area. It’s my job, it’s our job as coaches, to keep that passion and energy going but make it positive. … What you don’t want to do is kill that passion. I think it’s what separates Johnny.”
While many fans will be watching to see what A&M star Manziel does (if he can stay on the field for the full game), the quarterback on the other side is worth noting as well. Brian Bell of the Bearkats has a total of 57 total touchdowns over the past two years, and is a main part of the reason Sam Houston State was among the top 10 FCS teams for total offense last season. While nobody is expecting the upset, anything's possible in sports.
A&M enters this game ranked No.7 overall in both the Coaches and AP Poll for college football. They're already heavy favorites to win by 45 points over Sam Houston, with the over/under set at 68 points for the combined score. Weather is expected to stay near a high of 95 degrees with a very low chance for rain. Expectations are high as well, for "Johnny Football" to put on a full game's worth of highlights without getting himself benched.
Saturday night's Sam Houston State vs. Texas A&M game has a start time of 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The game will be televised on ESPN GamePlan via cable or satellite pay-per-view. The service is available in the U.S. as well as U.K., Europe, the Middle East and Africa. As for those without the service, tonight's college football game is also live streaming online, free of charge, through the ESPN3 website. See more details here on how to watch.
