Albuquerque based website True Freethinker is reporting on the new book by "New Atheist" Sam Harris which is titled “The Moral Landscape." The following is from part one of the report:
...keep in mind that as you consider Dr. Sam Harris’ prescriptions for morality that this is the very same Sam Harris, supposed champion of reason (and now science) who prescribed capital punishment for thought crime,
"Some propositions are so dangerous that it may even be ethical to kill people for believing them."
He also blames deaths of the 6,000,000 Jews who were murdered during the Holocaust on…on the Jews themselves:
"The gravity of Jewish suffering over the ages, culminating in the Holocaust, makes it almost impossible to entertain any suggestion that Jews might have brought their troubles upon themselves.
This is, however, in a rather narrow sense, the truth."
He also blamed the rape of Islamic women on Islamic taboos against rape,
"The reason why all those women were raped in the Bosnian conflict was that it was so stigmatising in the Muslim community to be raped, that you were essentially ruining the community from within by recourse to its own taboos."
He also dehumanizes human beings when they are babies in the womb so as to support abortion:
"A 3-day-old human embryo is a collection of 150 cells called a blastocyst. There are, for the sake of comparison, more than 100,000 cells in the brain of a fly."
In the next segment we will delve into what he has to say about his new book The Moral Landscape.

Sam Harris sounds insane.
Geronl, youre insane for believing what this liar said. Read harris's book and you'll see what he's really talking about. Oh wait you won't do that, because you're a close minded religious nut.
All these quotes are completely out of context. Try reading the book yourself. Or read his reply to the BS people are spouting: http://www.samharris.org/site/full_text/response-to-controversy2/
"taboos against rape"? Putting it nicely, eh? You meant that a father will "honor kill" his daughter when she is raped.
We can all agree on a "taboo against rape". The point Harris might be making is that this insane mindset to honor kill your daughter when she becomes a rape victim wasn't just horribly damaging to society on its own merit, it was also abused by rapist invaders.
One defends Sam Harris for blaming Muslim women for getting raped.
Another claims that the quotes are out of context which is a popular way of saying, "I have no response but will defend Sam Harris anyhow."
Something is not out of context because you do not like what it says, it is out of context when the original context is compared to the one in which it is placed by a quoter. Present your evidence or deal with Sam Harris as he is.
And, by the way, when, for example, he tried to explain away why he prescribes capital punishment for thought crime he only made it more obvious and clear that he prescribes capital punishment for thought crime.
anonymous did provide evidence that you quote mined harris, you liar. That link he provided was evidence. This has nothing to do with anonymous not liking what harris said. This is about him telling the truth by pointing out your blatant lies!!! You definitely did misquote harris! What he was saying was that people who hold jihadist views of faith can't be reasoned with, therefore killing them is ethical. He NEVER advocated killing people for not thinking like he did, and he did not make it clear, as you claim, that this is what he wanted in his response to the controversy.
As anonymous points out, harris is not dehumanizing human life by listing the number of fetuses in a cell. He's stating a simple fact. If harris does support abortion, so what. You know what i find dehumanizing; people like you who slander those that disagree with your lifestyle. Anonymous's comment on the rape quote is entirely accurate. This "kill your daughter if she gets raped" rule or as you put taboo against rape is insane.
Finally, sam harris is correct in laying partial blame of antisemitic atrocities on semites. In the old testament, the israelites are told to kill anyone that worships any god other than yahweh. To a non jew this can understandably lead to racial animosity, and it did.
"He also dehumanizes human beings when they are babies in the womb so as to support abortion:"
How is it dehumanizing to tell you how many cells are part of a organism at a specific period of it's development? We are all made of cells, If we listed how many cells are in your body, is that also dehumanizing?
Where does it say that he supports abortion in that quote? or are you quote-mining again?
Yes anonymous, he is. I appreciate your defense of harris, and i hope you appreciate my defense of you. Grinbank is a disgusting propagandist.
