You know it’s officially fall in New England when everything turns into a pumpkin. We prefer ours in the form of Samuel Adams Fat Jack.
Made of more than 28 pounds of real pumpkins per barrel, this beer has a nice rich flavor with full bodied sweetness. The double pumpkin ale has all of the spices of the season, including cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice but it’s the unusual flavors of roasted and smoked malts, molasses and caramel that we love. (We paired the 8.5% ABV bottle up as an after dinner nightcap with a slice of carrot cake).
If you prefer a lighter beer, don’t miss the Ruby Mild, a malty beer with just a light hint of hops. The 5.6% ABV brew is the perfect fall beer with its hints of caramel and toffee and goes best with a nice hot bowl of spicy chili.
