Appearance: It is dark brown in color and is slightly carbonated.
Aroma: It has a sweet scent with a hazel notes and a small bit of hops.
Taste: It's very crisp and refreshing, sweet start all the way through to the finish. There is also a nice hazelnut flavor in the finish.
Conclusion: As always I'm a fan of all dark beers that Sam Adam's brews. My favorite part of this beer, a part from the flavor, is how light and crisp it is for the dark color. The beer is very drinkable and I recommend it for all drinkers, especially someone who wants to start drinking dark beers. As far as food pairings go, I recommend any slow cooked meat, dessert, but I'd rather enjoy this beer on it's own.
