The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center will hold a free information session on their new children’s recreation programs on Tuesday, January 8 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The event will take place in the Wells Fargo Foundation Conference Center at the Kroc Center, 4200 Wissahickon Ave., in Philadelphia, PA.
Representatives from the Center will be available to provide information on the Kroc Kids indoor soccer¸ soft lacrosse, and tennis programs and the CAA scholars academy beginning this month. Fundamental instruction is provided by trained staff in the mentioned sports and fundamental instruction about personal and academic enrichment is provided in the scholars academy. Training and skill development in soccer, soft lacrosse and tennis is open to children ages 5 – 9 and is free to members. The scholars academy is open to children ages 8 - 15.
The Center opened its doors in November 2010 and continues to expand their programs.“The ultimate goal is to grow the programs for all age groups”, says Jeffrey Hewlings, the Center’s operations director. The Center currently offers various programs for children in dance, sports conditioning, fitness, and yoga, as well as full-access membership for adults and children at the 130,000 square foot facility in North Philadelphia.
