The Zombie Hoard Travels Down 2nd South
Salty Zombies Weekend is here! The event kicked off last night at the Gallivan Center where a group of brain-hungry zombies gathered, readying themselves for their trek down second south to the Gateway . It was a gorgeous evening as dusk crept over the valley. This presented the perfect atmosphere to infect the streets of downtown Salt Lake City.
As the mob shambled their way down 200 south, they drew attention to themselves as they pounded on windows of some of downtown’s restaurants as the diners watched on with confused looks. At one point, the mob came upon a large group of convention-goers on their way out of the Salt Palace Convention Center. Reactions were mixed, ranging from glances of disapproval to laughter and setting up photo opportunities.
Seen as a good start for not only Salty Zombies Weekend, but the Salty Zombies community as a whole (see http://www.saltyzombies.com) by the event’s organizer, Zombie Zed, there is still much more to expect in the next couple of days with a screening of Romero’s Dawn of the Dead this evening as well as Zombie Kickball and an after-party tomorrow evening.
