In an article written a few days ago, it was mentioned that because of the over population of cats and kittens in the Salt Lake City, some shelters are not charging anything to adopt cats and kittens.
Salt Lake County Animal Services is one of these rescue groups and is currently offering no charge adoptions for kittens. This program was recently implemented and should run until October 31, 2010.
Salt Lake County Animal Services has offered no charge adoptions for cats older than four months old since June of 2009. This plan is scheduled to remain in effect until further notice.
All of the cats and kittens will have had their routine health examination by a veterinarian, they will have been spayed or neutered, and for safety, they will be microchipped when you adopt them.
This is just one of the many plans in hopes of finding these needy and yet loving critters a good home.
Kitten season is always in full swing during the summer time in Utah, but this year it has hits it's peak. There are hundreds of homeless pets in need of a good home!
If you have considered adopting a loving animal, now is the time! If you are interested in adoption from Salt Lake County Animal Services their shelter hours are:
Mondays,Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9:30 A.M. until 5:30 P.M.
