Apparently, there’s more going on in those children’s books than some of us adults ever realized.
Salt Lake Acting Company’s first play for kids, “Go, Dog, Go!” takes a simple children’s picture book and sends its characters of all colors and professions romping across the stage (cast shown at right). Adapted by Allison Gregory and Steven Dietz, “Go, Dog, Go!” highlights the learning, working, dancing, dreaming, and falling in love that the dogs experience in the book and turns it into a kinetic stage experience (including the water ballet and picnic in the tree, for those who are fans of the original book).
“Go, Dog, Go!” runs now through Dec. 27, with shows Thursdays at 10 a.m., Fridays at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays at 12 and 3 p.m. (A therapy dog from Intermountain Therapy Animals will be at the theater an hour before each performance). Tickets can be purchased either online or by calling 801-363-7522.
