This is a "Family Favorite" recipe that comes from a family in Raleigh, NC. Here is what the originator has to say about it:
"Here is a salsa recipe that we've always called "Hot Sauce". This recipe was my aunt's recipe that she used with Mexican dishes and passed on to my mom and then to me. It is very easy and only takes 5 minutes to make. We've even been known to mix this up late at night for a late night snack."
Stephanie's Hot Sauce
1 can stewed tomatoes (Mexican stewed is good to use)
1 jalapeño pepper or 2-4 jalapeño slices
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp cilantro
Blend in a blender for a smooth salsa. For a chunkier salsa, use the food processor.
Serve with chips, mix into hamburger for tacos, or mix into rice to make Spanish rice.
