Every Thursday night this summer, salsa dancing takes over Fountain Square, but the dancing is only part of the attraction.

Dancing under the stars is much more exciting than dancing in a club. The warm summer evening stirs your emotions, bringing to life a sense of romance that is the essence of everyone who has even been young and in love.

You don’t need to know how to salsa dance in order to participate at Salsa on the square. Instructors are on hand to show you the basic dance steps and the music takes over from there.

The Latin rhythms are laid down by a different band every Thursday night. These bands mark the finest Latin bands that Cincinnati has to offer, and some of them have more than a local following.

This event is for everyone and the square is usually filled with people from all walks of life. Except for the food and drinks, this event is free and open to the public.

The square also features booths with food, soft drinks, and adult beverages. Plenty of time is available to take a break and watch others dance for a while.

The next Salsa on the square happens June 17. The event repeats fourteen times throughout the summer, running every Thursday night 7pm until 10pm. More information and a list of when each band will perform can be found at their web site:
