Salman Khan's 'Dabangg 2' grosses Rs 166 crores at the worldwide box-office

According to a report from Koimoi.com on Jan 1, 2013, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's latest Hindi movie "Dabangg 2" grossed Rs 166 crores ($ 30 million) at the worldwide box-office in just 10 days after its release.

The Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer is still going strong at the box-office in the U.S., UK, UAE, Australia and New Zealand. The movie is heading towards Rs 200 crore mark.

The movie earned Rs 128 crores ($ 24 million) at the Indian box-office and Rs 38.49 crores ($7 million) overseas. The movie earned Rs 166.27 crores nett worldwide in 10 days.

At this pace, the movie will be able to cross the Rs 200 crore mark in the third week, according to trade experts.

This year, Shahrukh Khan's "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" had collected $ 13.1 million, Salman Khan's "Ek Tha Tiger" colelcted $ 10.7 million and Aamir Khan's suspence thriller "Talaash" collected around $ 9.2 million at the overseas box-office.

The movie is a sequel to the 2010 film "Dabangg" and is written by Dilip Shukla. "Dabangg 2" has become one of the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time in India.

Box-office India declared the film as a "Blockbuster" in India after its first week run and "Superhit" in overseas.
