When news broke that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian would grace the cover of “Vogue” it nearly broke the internet. While many people were angered by the decision to feature the controversial couple as the cover feature, it seems this may have been an excellent business decision by the executives at “Vogue”. According to an April 8 story by E! Online, the April edition of the magazine is on schedule to surpass the sales it received for the issues that featured Michelle Obama and Beyonce.

To put this in perspective, the issue of “Vogue” that featured Michelle Obama sold more than 290,000 copies of the magazine. While this is an impressive number, the issue that featured Beyonce smashed this total by exceeding the 330,000 issues sold mark. If it is true that the cover featuring Kanye West and Kim Kardashian is matching these numbers, then it is a testament to the controversial allure of this dynamic power couple.

What do you think about the cover? Is the impressive sales numbers a result of fan love for this duo or is it just a byproduct of the intense media attention this issue of “Vogue” received?
