Games like Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, and Call of Duty: Ghosts saw a much needed boost with the next-gen consoles hitting the shelves, as they came out before the Xbox One and PS4 launched in November.
Before the next-gen swing, sales of Call of Duty: Ghosts were down 50 percent compared last year’s Black Ops 2 launch. After the next-gen console launches, the game had closed the gap to 34.4 percent of last year.
Assassin’s Creed 4 and Battlefield 4 too saw their numbers improve significantly, with the former going from 60 percent to 30.4 percent few copies sold compared to Assassin’s Creed 3 and the latter going from 69 percent to 32.5 percent units sold compared to Battlefield 3.
Even sales of FIFA 14, down by 24 percent from FIFA 13, improved greatly, especially with the title now in the hands of 81 percent of all Xbox One owners.
