Deep Silver announced the upcoming release of “Saints Row IV” yesterday by issuing a press release as well as releasing the game’s first trailer. Deep Silver picked up the franchise after the acquired “Saints Row” developer, Volition, in the aftermath of the THQ bankruptcy earlier this year. “Saints Row IV” will continue the crazy co-op play that has made the series loved by its fans, but ups the ante by giving players an array of super powers at their disposal.
The “Saints Row IV” official press release describes that gamers will continue the exploits of the Third Street Saints, who are now literal super heroes and the head of the gang (which players control) has become the President of the United States who are fighting off an alien invasion from space. The release goes on to describe the following uses of super powers.
Saints Row IV lets players delve into an arsenal of alien weaponry and technology that will turn each Saint into an ultimate entity of destruction. Utilize out-of-this-world superpowers to fight all the way to the top. With intensified action and enhanced customization, players can use their newfound superpowers and leap over buildings, outrun the fastest sports cars, or send enemies flying with telekinesis in the greatest, most insane installment of Saints Row yet.
“Saints Row IV” will be releasing for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC on August 23.
