“Brother and sisters:
“We are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who did not know sin, so that we might become the righteousness of God in him.
“Working together, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain.
“For he says: In an acceptable time I heard you, and on the day of salvation I helped you
“Behold, now is a very acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinth 5:20-6:2
What does Paul mean when he said “we are ambassadors for Christ?” We cannot represent Jesus if we do not know him personally? We have to know Jesus, the man and God, behind the book if we want to attest him and proclaim the word of Jesus. How can we reach out others if we are not in tune with Jesus’ teaching?
I think what Paul is trying to say here is in order to follow Jesus, we have to change our ways and internalize the word that is given to us and practice them as part of our transformation. Remember we are created through the image and likeness of God.
We should be thankful that the grace of God has given us, free, through Jesus Christ. It is hard for us to fathom all of these; however, if we ask, believe and receive the goodness and blessings of God without doubting him, then we have the abundance that all of us are longing for.
We do not need to doubt God’s word. Every day, he shapes our thoughts and actions that we are one with Jesus, while walking with him side by side, through the path of holiness.
