SATP holds its Second Regular Open Meeting of the Year.
The Saint Augustine Tea Party (SATP) held its second open meeting of the year at the Village Inn on January 22, 2013. The main order of business was the discussion of future activities for the Town Criers on St. George Street. It was reported that the Town Criers and SATP members experienced a very positive response to their defense of the second amendment on the previous Saturday on Highway US 1 South. This occurred on January 19, 2013.
The Town Criers have been absent from St. George Street since the beginning of the year due to numerous members experiencing this season’s flu epidemic. It was announced that the Town Criers would begin their activities on St. George Street on Saturday the 26th. The Town Criers will continue to hand out U.S. Constitutions. Their signage will be in support of the second amendment. The sign pictured here was displayed at the meeting. Many similar signs and flags with “Come and Take It” were displayed nationally during the “Gun Appreciation Day” events on January 19th.
