Saint Arnold Brewery releases a new ICON series beer

Houston’s Saint Arnold Brewery is ready for yet another new beer release- a release that is part of the new ICON series launched in 2013 and continuing through the year. The latest is Cascadian Dark Ale, and it is available in stores starting March 6, 2913. Here is some information on this latest ICON:

Name: Cascadian Dark Ale

Style: Black IPA

Original Gravity: 1.070

Final Gravity: 1.017

Alcohol by Volume: 7 percent

Cascadian Dark Ale is the newest beer in the ICON series and it follows in the footsteps of the first ICON release, which was a Belgian style pale ale. Cascadian Dark promises to be a completely different type of beer than the first ICON brew: A black IPA made with Centennial, Simcoe, Chinook, and Columbus hops that offers a roasted malt taste with a pronounced hop nose and plenty of hop character.

This newest entry in the ICON family was inspired by Pete Garza’s winning entry in the 2012 Big Batch Brew Bash. Look for it in stores where Saint Arnold beer is sold. It is distinguished from the first ICON by its blue packaging and, like the first ICON release, each package will contain four bottles. Grab yourself a four pack and enjoy it while it lasts- it will be replaced by ICON #3 sometime in the summer of 2013.
