The very popular and potent spiced rum named for famed tattoo artist Norman "Sailor Jerry" Collins is a flavorful ingredient that adds a tropical ambiance to any cocktail.

The simple bottle contains an iconic tattoo graphic of a hula-skirted young lady playing a ukulele, reflecting the popular notion of rum as a libation associated with sailors and Hawaiian culture.
While most flavored rums are bottled at 70 to 80 proof, this copper-colored spirit boasts a hefty proof of 92.
Big aromas of vanilla, citrus and caramel dominate the nose. Flavors of vanilla, cherry, lime and dried fruits are front and center, with spices like cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg competing in this lively bouquet.
The combination of flavors and spices compliment the ubiquitous cola mixer and ginger ale, but some will enjoy this flavorful cane spirit on the rocks as well.
Sailor Jerry Spiced Navy Rum is one of many products capitalizing on the Sailor Jerry brand. It's said the famous tattoo artist and sailor developed his own recipe for spicing up cheap rum during his duty in Hawaii.
The artist was famous for his dramatic themes and fine detail, but also for his innovation in technical and mechanical aspects of the art and his refinement of safe and effective pigments.
He learned much from Japanese masters in the 1920s. His tattoo shop in Honolulu's Chinatown, which he established in the 1930s, was a beacon for tattoo enthusiasts.
Sailor Jerry rum is imported and marketed by William Grant and Sons.
