As a follow-up to my wedding article, many people wanted an opportunity to sail on Seawolf, the 40 foot long by 25 foot wide catamaran built of Spanish cedar, but they weren’t planning to get married.
Seawolf offers four shared cruises a day, weather permitting, call for reservations 214-803-0025 or reserve on-line. Seawolf sails out of Bella Harbor on the eastern shore of Lake Ray Hubbard. Park in front of the Hilton Hotel or you can use valet parking. The boat is docked near the lighthouse.
Cruise times are:
Afternoon swim and cruise 2:00 – 4:00
Pre-dinner cruise 5:00 – 6:45
Sunset cruise 7:00 -8:45
Moonlight cruise 9:00 – 10:45
The cost of a cruise is $25.00
There are restrooms for both men and women on board and you are welcome to bring your own food and drink. Cold bottled water is provided. Non-motorized wheelchairs can be accommodated.
Seawolf is also available for private parties. Anniversary parties and birthday parties are quite popular events.
Scott Self, former Mayor and Councilman of Rockwall, specializes in Corporate Team Building exercises. Captain Self states, “Our Sail Based Team Building program provides participants with valuable leadership and teamwork skills; placing work groups in a new, challenging and fun environment. We achieve this through various programs which place individuals in a new and unique setting which mimics many of the problem solving methods needed by successful business professionals.”
Seawolf also offers a great fund raiser opportunity for charities. You can rent the boat for $500 for the night and sell tickets to 49 people at the regular $25.00 price and raise $700. for your charity. Additionally, you can sell drinks and easily raise over $1,000. In this way, your guests are paying no more than they would if they went on the regular cruise. Captain Self indicates that he has never had a charity event that didn’t sell out, but to protect charities, he will allow you to cancel if you can’t sell enough tickets.
