Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was granted bail after he was arrested at his lawyer's office on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in connection with a assault case.
The actor was arrested after a guest at a five-star hotel gave a police complaint on Wednesday accusing Saif of punching him on the nose after a heated argument.
Saif Ali Khan and two of his friends, Bilal Amrohi and Shakeel Ladak, were granted bail on a surety of Rs 3000.
According to Times of India, "A case under section 325 of the IPC had been registered against Saif. The incident took place last night at Wasabi restaurant, Taj Hotel when he, along with Kareena, Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora Ladak and a few friends, were having dinner."
"Iqbal M Sharma, a temporary resident of Juhu, was sitting with his family at an adjoining table. According to reports, Iqbal complained about the clamour that Saif and his friends made. This ticked off Saif and a scuffle broke between the two. Saif, reportedly, told Iqbal to go to a library to find quiet."

"The midnight brawl at the Wasabi restaurant in the Taj Hotel got ugly when Iqbal Sharma, a South African businessman of Indian origin, complained to Khan and his guests, that they were making too much noise at their table. Sharma, who was seated at an adjacent table at the time of the incident, claimed he did not know who Khan was."
"Sharma said Saif called him an "idiot" for complaining about the actor's loud conduct and asked him to go to a library if he wanted peace and quiet before assaulting him.
The police registered an FIR against Khan and his friends under sections 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt)."
Saif, reportedly said in his defence that the CCTV footage in the restaurant that will prove everything and he was just defending himself.
