SAG Foundation 'Casting Access Project' presents casting directors 2014

The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Foundation is a non-profit organization. It provides free programs & services to union members of the “Screen Actors Guild” & the “American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.” The foundation is an individual entity from SAG/AFTRA & does not pay union dues to any member.

The Foundation presents three programs that assist union members free of charge. They include, “Casting Access Project” (CAP), “Conversations” & “LifeRaft.” According to the official SAG Foundation website CAP is described like this - “The Casting Access Project provides Master prep sessions with casting professionals at no cost to SAG-AFTRA members in Los Angeles and New York City. To be eligible for this program you must be a current SAG-AFTRA member, over 18 and in good standing and must first complete the CAP Orientation process.”

Below are three upcoming Los Angeles, California CAP workshops:

Saturday Jan. 11, 2014 / Lindsay Jameyson - Casting associate for “Hawaii Five-0” (CBS), “StarCrossed (CW) & The Night Crew (Film) / Check in begins at 10:15 a.m. - Workshop begins at 10:30 a.m. / Status: This event & waiting list is full to capacity.

Sunday Jan. 12, 2014 / Gina Gallego - Casting assistant to Randi Hiller (Disney). She is now the casting associate to Wendy O'Brien. / Check in begins at 12:15 - Workshop begins at 12:30 p.m. / Status: Seats are available for this event. / According to the website - “The event will feature a Q&A portion as well as a cold reading session with our featured guest.” (Frequency Restricted).

Monday Jan. 13, 2014 / Howard Meltzer - Casting director for films & television. Some include, “The Impossible”, “The Virgin Suicides”, Hannah Montana”, “American Dad” & many other projects. / Check in begins at 7:15 p.m. - Workshop begins at 7:30 p.m. / Status: Seats are available for this event. (Frequency Restricted).

The SAG Foundation instructs each SAG/AFTRA member about CAP Rules - “You must have completed a Casting Access Project Orientation prior to registering for this workshop. Please note that the 90-day Frequency Restriction applies to this workshop. Your last frequency-restricted workshop must have taken place no less than 90 (ninety) days prior to this event to be eligible to register. Also, should you register for more than one (1) frequency-restricted CAP workshop at a time, the higher-placing CAP registration will be retained and all others will be deleted.”

“No Late Arrivals and No Walk Ins are admitted. Only those participants who have received a telephoned or e-mailed confirmation message from CAP staff will be admitted to the session. Wait listed individuals who have not received such confirmation will not be admitted at the door. Please do not show up if you have not been explicitly confirmed as seated.”
