'SAG' Awards nominates Misty Upham with cast of 'August: Osage County'

Earlier today at 5:50 a.m. (PT) on Wednesday Dec. 11, 2013. The 20th annual “Screen Actors Guild” (SAG) award nominations were announced in West Hollywood. Native American actress Misty Upham was included in the nomination for “Outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture” for “August: Osage County.” Misty portrays Johnna Monevata in the film along side Meryl Streep & Julia Roberts.

“Breaking Bad” (AMC) earned four SAG award nominations for its' final TV season 2013. They include, Bryan Cranston for TV male actor, Anna Gunn for TV female actor, Outstanding cast for a TV drama & Outstanding stunt ensemble in a comedy or drama series. “Bad” was filmed entirely at Albuquerque, N.M.

Robert Redford was shut out of the best actor category for a motion picture. The film “All is Lost” in which Redford played the lead role was nominated for “Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture.” He performed his own stunts in the movie.

The 20th Annual SAG awards will be presented live on Jan. 18, 2014 on TNT & TBS cable networks.

  • Cate Blanchett as Jasmine in “Blue Jasmine”

  • Sandra Bullock as Ryan Stone in “Gravity”

  • Judi Dench as Philomena Lee in “Philomena”

  • Meryl Streep as Violet Weston in “August: Osage County”

  • Emma Thompson as P.L. Travers in “Saving Mr. Banks”

Outstanding Performance by a cast in a motion picture
