The SAG Awards 2014 red carpet has been rolled out for Saturday night’s event, which according to a Jan. 17 CBS News report will bring out some of Hollywood’s hottest stars including, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Kerry Washington, Oprah Winfrey and Lupita Nyong’o.
Nyong’o, a newly minted style icon on the red carpet fashion scene is nominated for an Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role SAG award for her phenomenal performance in the Oscar nominated drama “12 Years a Slave.” She is up again America’s current sweetheart Jennifer Lawrence, nominated for “American Hustle,” Julia Roberts, who is nominated for “August: Osage County,” Oprah Winfrey for “The Butler,” and June Squibb for “Nebraska.”
While Nyong’o is no doubt one of the most talented actresses to grace the silver screen last year, all eyes are poised on the red carpet for her SAG Awards red carpet debut. The Best Supporting Actress winner opted for a blue Gucci dress, Christian Louboutin heels, a Monica Rich Kosann clutch, and Fred Leighton jewels, according to Just Jared.
As the Examiner previously reported, the actress captivated the fashion world at this year’s Golden Globes in a bold red Ralph Lauren gown, featuring a fantastic cape. The sleek simplicity of the gown was highlighted by the star’s choice of Fred Leighton jewels. She rocked diamond studs in gold, measuring approximately 2 carats each, a 4.0 carat diamond and 18kt yellow gold ring, c.1970 and an 11.0 carat cushion cut diamond ring, in 18kt yellow gold, c. 1950.
The SAG Awards 2014 will air live Saturday from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on TNT and TBS, beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
