Lupita Nyong’o attended the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards, commonly referred to as the SAG Awards, on Saturday, Jan. 18. The actress made a bold statement in the color turquoise, according to a report by Just Jared.
Lupita wore a dazzling turquoise gown by Gucci. The gown had a matching floral embellishment on the actress’ decollate and shoulders. She paired the gown with Christian Louboutin shoes, a Monica Rich Kosann clutch and Fred Leighton jewelry.
The 30-year-old also wore bold blue eyeshadow and soft pink lipstick.
Not only did she looked like a winner, but she was also the winner of the night. She won an award for her Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her work in “12 Years a Slave”. The actress beat out Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Roberts, June Squibb and Oprah Winfrey.
This was the first SAG award for Lupita Nyong'o. Fans were delighted to hear that the actress picked up a 2014 SAG award. She was snubbed at the 2014 Golden Globes. She lost the award of Best Supporting Actress to Jennifer Lawrence.
