SAG Awards nods to 'Nurse Jackie' 'Homeland' and 'House of Lies' on Showtime

The SAG Award nominated were announced for The 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards by SAG-AFTRA on Dec. 11, 2013. Showtime Network series garnered a total of five nominations, including nods for lead actors Claire Danes, Don Cheadle and Edie Falco. The total of five nods sets a record for Showtime, according to the cable network.

"Nurse Jackie's" Edie Falco was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy, which. This was Falco's 20th nomination,making her the most nominated actor in the history of the SAG Awards. Falco has been nominated a total of 20 times and has won the Actor five times Falco has won and Emmy Awards and five SAG Awards for her role of Carmela Soprano in the drama "The Sopranos." "Homeland" was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. The cast of "Homeland" includes: Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, Damian Lewis as Nicholas Brody, Mandy Patinkin as Saul Berenson, F. Murray Abraham as Dar Adal, Sarita Choudhury as Mira Berenson, Rupert Friend as Peter Quinn, Tracy Letts as Sen. Andrew Lockhart and Morgan Saylor as Dana Brody.

Lead actor Claire Danes received her second consecutive nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series. Danes won the SAG Actor last year for her critically-acclaimed performance as CIA agent "Carrie Mathison." Danes has also won two Emmys for her role for the first two seasons of the suspense series. Danes has also won SAG, Golden Globe and Emmy Awards for her role in the HBO film "Temple Grandin."

Additionally, the stunt cast of "Homeland" was nominated for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series. "Homeland" airs its third season finale on Sun. and will return for a fourth season in 2014. Thriller "Homeland" renewed for fourth season on Showtime

"House of Lies' Don Cheadle was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series, marking his first individual series nomination for his role as fast talking business consultant "Marty Kaan." Cheadle is a prior nine-time nominee and two-time winner for his work in film. "House of Lies" returns for its third season in 2014.

The 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards presented by SAG-AFTRA will air live coast-to-coast from the Shrine Exposition Center, on Sat., Jan.18th, 2014.
