Safford helps Bates hand Husson first loss this season

BANGOR-- The Bates Bobcats men's basketball team went on a 14-2 run in the second half and cruised to a 79-58 victory over Husson on Tuesday evening.

It was the first loss of the season for the Eagles.

Graham Safford led the Bobcats with 17 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.

Luke Matarazzo (14), Mike Boornazian (13), Malcolm Delpeche (12), and Adam Philpott (11) also finished in double figures for the Bobcats.

Brooks Spaulding led the Eagles with 14 points.

Bates outscored Husson 46-29 in the second half.

Husson (13-1) will look to stay undefeated in the NAC when they get back to conference play this weekend.

The Eagles play at Johnson State on Saturday, and at Lyndon State on Sunday.
