Learning Safari is a hands-on fun experience for your child to get up-close and personal with the animals of Petland. Instructors guide the children to safely hold, pet and learn about the animals of the store. Every Thursday evening from 5:30-7:30, Petland hosts their Safari night which is a huge hit with the community. The instructors are dynamic, making learning fun for the many children that stop on by daily. You can drop by anytime between that timeframe and jump right into the action. There is no charge to attend.

Kids love being able to pick up furry animals like rabbits, guinea pigs, hedgehogs and ferrets. They have a blast being able to cuddle and pet them, sharing turns with one another. They can also view the reptiles and even get to hold some of them. Some of the reptiles they get to learn about and even pet are chameleons, snakes, lizards, turtles and other reptiles. In addition to the learning opportunities, kids can walk around view lots more animals including fish, colorful birds, hamsters and more.

After an exciting adventure they can walk on over to the Dairy Queen next door where they are treated to a free icecream cone. This is valid only during Safari night for children 12 and under. Be sure to tell them you visited the Safari night in order to receive your free ice cream cone. Kids get a choice between a vanilla, chocolate or swirl cone. A great way to end the day. Be sure to use the hand sanitizer provided at Petland before heading over to Dairy Queen though.
Petland is located at 6600 Holly Ave NW, Suite B-6 near San Pedro and Paseo del Norte in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
