Update 12:40 p.m. (PST): The facility had indicated that this dog had until 7 p.m. on Tuesday to be claimed/adopted/rescued. Someone (unknown which employee) at the facility told callers that this dog had been adopted, when he had in fact, been killed.
The following update was provided by the Facebook page, Speaking up for those who can't:
UPDATE: All 10 of the dogs on the list were euthanized this morning! Staff said it was a "misunderstanding". The email they sent out to us at 1 pm yesterday should have said we had until close of business yesterday to save them (4 hours notice). It was a "mistake" that the email said we had until close of business today!
Must be out by 7 p.m...that is the sad reality for a young boxer mix who is kenneled at an Odessa, Texas, animal control.
The following words were shared about this unnamed dog who is scared, and waiting, at the pound:
This sweet terrified soul needs someone to save him and show him what it is to be loved!! Please he is out of time and considered Urgent!
This "last call," is not the first time that this young dog has been posted on social networking...in fact, the plea to save his life was first posted over a week ago, but to date, nobody has come forward to rescue or adopt him.
Please take a moment to network for this boy's life - he is clearly terrified, and unfortunately, he has good reason to be.
