A band name like Sad Robot reads like a science fiction oxymoron. Robots cannot be sad because robots aren’t human and don’t have emotions. When you listen to this Los Angeles based band’s music, though, you’re quickly aware there is nothing at all robotic or emotion-less about the songs it creates.
The group is a bit of a buzz band on the California scene, and has already made inroads on various TV programs, such as FOX’s Bones. A trio, Sad Robot is lead by singer/keyboardist Katherine Pawlak. The group has received airplay on both Star 98.7 and KROQ, and the act once even performed as the LA Kings’ special guests. In addition to Bones, the group’s music has also been featured on Oxygen network’s Bad Girls Club.
Clearly, this is a band on a rise, in a town where the competition is fierce. To get some insight into what makes this exciting new band tick, please click on the following link: http://www.songfacts.com/blog/writing/sad_robot/
