Update 12/13/13: Billy has been rescued!
Since Dec. 1, Billy, a German shepherd, has waited for his owner to retrieve him from the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control facility in Baldwin Park, Calif.
To date, the dog has remained unclaimed and now that the month is nearly half over, it appears as though nobody is coming to take Billy home.
Shepherds, sensitive by nature, are often among the dogs to first shut down when kenneled in an unfamiliar location...add in the worried, stressed barks and cries from the other impounded dogs and the sad situation becomes nearly unbearable.
Billy is listed as "neutered," on the facility's website - a sure clue that at some point, he was cared about by someone.
Please take a moment to network on behalf of this handsome, two-year-old dog's behalf, before he is gone forever.
