As Christians, Catholics, we have the opportunity to experience and witness the ultimate sacrifice made every time we participate in Mass. We see and feel what it means to lay down your life for another.
That is what being a parent is all about. When a person truly embraces it with love and passion it will never be a burden. As parents we must remember we get to mold our children, form them, and strengthen them for such a short period of time. Thus shouldn't we want to drop everything in our life if need be to do exactly what is right for them?
Parents have the opportunity for a short window of time, roughly 18 years, sometimes shorter, to show their children through their actions, not just words, that they are there to guide and love them no matter what.
Parents sometimes forget children are human beings who deserve respect and time just as we expect it from them.
So think about your schedule...your life...what do you have in your life that could possibly be interfering with great quality time....one on one time....formation time...spontaneous tea time or crafting with your young developing being?
What can you peel away from your life, your schedule, your distractions...to let him or her know they are more important than all that other stuff?
