The Sacramento Surge will play their final game of the 2013-2014 Professional Arena Soccer League season when they host rival Turlock Express this Saturday night. It has been a trying year for the Surge who will be completing their second year in the PASL. The team has been playing a lot more aggressively as of late but team defense has been their Achilles Heel as of late. Hopefully during the offseason they will be able to amend this problem. But the great field play of the team's star midfielder Jaime Portillo (eighteen goals and eight assist) and Chris Sandoval (ten goals and five assists) have been this season's bright spots.
This will be the fourth meeting of the year between the Surge and Express. Turlock leads the season series 1-3 and Sacramento is looking forward to end the season with a victory over their rival. The last time these two teams met was on January 11th and over fifty minutes of penalties were called on both sides that night and a combined fifteen power-play opportunities. The Surge will need to attack the net constantly and pressure the Express into forcing bad shots and decisions if they want to secure a win. Most importantly do not give in to Turlock's aggressive play and commit reactionary fouls.
