The Sacramento Surge (2-8) will host the Turlock Express (2-7) this Saturday night at the Estadio Azteca Indoor Soccer Complex this Saturday night. Sacramento is looking for its second home win of the season and the Express is trying to win their first road game. Turlock has lost seven in a row and will play at home Friday night against the Ontario Fury (3-6) before making the trip up to Sacramento. The Express is hoping that their points leader Arturo Pulido (5 goals & 11 assists) and their leading scorer Martyn Arista (9 goals 3 assists) will be able to overcome Sacramento's offense led by Jaime Portillo (12 goals 4 assists) and Chris Sandoval (7 goals 2 assists).
This game will be their third meeting of the season. Sacramento lost the first matchup 10-7 in Turlock. In that game the Express had a total of 34 shots-on-goal compared to the Surge's 26. Herb Garzon of Turlock scored three goals in the game whilst Jaime Portillo scored two goals. The Surge won their second meeting 5-3 with 8 shot-on-goal attempts compared to Turlock's 27. But Surge's goalie Emmanuel Lopez made 24 saves along with great defensive play gave the team their first win of the season. Sacramento's Jaime Portillo was the game's leading scorer with two goals.
The Surge will have to continue the brilliant offensive play that they have showcased at home for the last two games (against Yamhill and Bay Area) and tighten up on defense to keep on the winning track. This game will be a shootout with a lot of action and scoring. Some tickets are still available and they are just $10 for adults and $7 for youths 15 and under. They can be purchased at the Estadio Azteca box office or at http://www.sacsurge.com
