The Sacramento Surge lost to the Toros de Mexico 20-6. The team was playing back-to-back road games and were defeated Saturday night by the Las Vegas Legends. It was a Sunday afternoon affair for the Surge who were playing the Toros at the Unisantos Sports Park in Tijuana, Mexico. Sacramento was trying to win their second road game of the season whilst the Toros were looking to win their third game in a row.
The Toros stormed out of the gate by scoring six goals in the first period whilst shutting down the Surge's offense. Sacramento's Eric Aragon scored the team's first goal in the second quarter to narrow the lead to 6-1. But the Toros came right back to score twice, widening the lead 8-1. Andres Villenueva scored the Surge's second goal of the game followed by another score from the Toros. Jay Weislogel's score made it a 9-3 game. The third period began with the Toros leading 10-3 and they continued to add to their lead by outscoring the Surge 3-1. Sacramento tried to match the Toros but they were overpowered by the host team when they outscored the Surge 7-2 in the fourth to win the game.
