Sacramento State hosts Special Olympics Tournament (Photos)

Teams from Northern California competed in this weekend’s Special Olympics Regional Basketball Tournament at California State University, Sacramento.

Competitors of all ages from El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo counties competed in multiple skill levels of play.

The Discovery All-Stars, run by coach Carl Gayle, won gold and silver medals in multiple competitions.

Special Olympics Northern California looks to provide athletic opportunities to children and adults with intellectual disabilities and instill the confidence they need to succeed in life.
