A colorful show of ethnic dances and music for the whole family. Saturday, March 29, 2014 3:00 p.m - 5:00 p.m. Location is the Sacramento City College Performing Arts Center, 3835 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95822. See Flyer for details.

This event is presented by the Sacramento International Folk Dance Council and the University Union UNIQUE programs. Also, check out the sites, "Festival focuses on arts" and "University hosts international dance festival." Check out the site, Camellia International Folk Dance: 3/7/2014, 7:00pm at Central. See the site: Camellia International Folk Dance. Please check out the Events Sacramento Bee, 58th Annual Dance Festival site.

There have been several workshops last week, for example. On Friday, Mar 7, 2014 there was a workshop from 7:00 p.m to 11:00 p.m. The party took place at the Central United Methodist Church Sacramento, CA.

The 58th annual Camellia International Folk Dance Festival hosted party 7–11 p.m. Lee Otterholt presented two workshops: Scandinavian Couple and Balkan Line starting at 1 p.m.; party 7–11 p.m. You can read more and see a phone number listed at the Sacramento Events Calendar site.

Check out the site, "58th Annual Camellia Dance Festival: 3/29/2014, 3:00pm." The change is in the location, apparently, regarding the 58th Annual Camellia Dance Festival. The issue is the change in the date and location.

You also have a listing for a Camellia Dance Festival, rather than an International Dance Festival, yet the dances are international. The day listed there is Saturday, Mar 29, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. And the location in the notice this year is listed as being at the Sacramento City College Performing Arts Center Sacramento, CA, not like last year where the Camellia International Dance Festival was held for the past number of years in another place, formerly at CSUS in Union Hall. But now the listings online put the location at Sacramento College Performing Arts Center for March 29, 2014. And the time also has changed.

The address for the Sacramento City College Performing Arts Center is 3835 Freeport Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95822.

According to the City College listing, the festival provides a showcase of ethnic dance including:

The Festival provides a showcase of ethnic dance, including:

Dunsmuir Scottish Dancers - Scottish
Łowiczanie Polish Folk Dance Ensemble

The Bedouin Dancers - Egyptian

You also can check out the Sacramento Events website for the 58th annual Camellia Dance Festival. So please be aware of the change of location and date. It's not in the same place as it was last year, apparently, according to the newspaper listings. For years the time used to be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. And the location was easy for so many seniors who live near the bus line close to the University. However, this year the starting time is 3:00 p.m. at the new location and on a different date than what guests were used to for the past decade or more.

Now, the change means a later start, where people living closer to the old location won't be able to get back so quick with a short bus ride now that this year the location is at Sacramento City College Performing Arts Center. But on the other hand, if you live near Sacramento City College Performing Arts Center, the performance is closer to you this year. It would be great if such a show was brought to a senior center located near public transportation and scheduled at noon or 1 p.m. so seniors could get home safely by public transportation while it's daylight, if they had to ride an hour or two to get home. In any case, if you love folk dancing, check out the Calendar of Folk Dance and Music Events in the Sacramento Area.
