Sacramento Republic F.C. loses on the road to the Arizona United S.C. 2-1

Sacramento lost to the Arizona United S.C. 2-1 Saturday night. The Republic scored first in the 27th minute of the game. Rodrigo Lopez scored his first goal of the game giving Sacramento a 1-0 lead. Arizona came back to tie the game in the 38th minute with a goal from forward Brandon Swartzendruber making it 1-1. Defender Mickey Daly was red carded for knocking down a United player giving them a penalty shot which was blocked by goalie Dominik Jakubek.

The second half remained tied until the 85th minute when Arizona's Joseph Toby scored a goal with a making it a 2-1 game. Sacramento was unable to counter with a goal of their own and the United's defense held on for the win. This is the second loss for the Republic and both defeats have come when the team gets red carded. Now that Sacramento's five game road trip has ended they can now concentrate on the home opener against the Harrisburg City Islanders.
