Sacramento Republic Football Club's first game of the inaugural 2014 USL Pro season ends in a 1-1 tie with the L.A. Galaxy II at the StubHub Center Track Stadium located in Carson, California. Republic's forward Justin Braun scored the first official goal of the franchise with a header (a goal scored with a player's head) in the 33rd minute of the game. The Galaxy II scored in the 81st minute to tie the game with a goal by forward Chandler Hoffman. Sacramento's goalie Jacob Gleeson recorded five saves and earned a tie during his ninety minutes in front of the net. Max Alvarez had four shots as well.

The Republic return home and will once again travel back to Carson to face the Chivas U.S.A. Reserves on April 7th.
