As September rolls in so does the 5th Annual Bobby Jackson Foundation Golf Tournament. The event is Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 at Timbercreek GC, in Sun City, Roseville. Jackson, a longtime favorite with King's fans has remained steadfastly loyal to the community and continues to give back through his foundation's golf tournament. This year's event will raise funds to support the B Street Theater, the House Church (Youth Outreach Services), the California Highway Patrol Association's widow and orphan fund and Scholarships for Education for Youth in Need.

Event registration starts at 10:30 a.m. with a noon shotgun start. Big Breaker, Isaac Sanchez is featured in promos for the tournament. If you want to play contact Elmasion Marketing at 916-548-9555. Don't wait.

Recently Jackson also served on the Board of the Cameron Champ fundraiser. Champ who has now departed to college at Texas A&M, hosted a successful tournament raising funds for The First Tee of Greater Sacramento, where he happened to win the first tournament that he ever played in.

Sacramento's Kevin Sutherland made some headlines recently on the Champions Tour by shooting a 59 in the second round at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open. Sutherland, who closed No. 18 with his only bogey of the day, became the first player to shoot a 59 on the Champions Tour. During his PGA Tour years, Sutherland routinely played his practice rounds with close friend Paul Goydos, another player to recently join the Champions Tour, who also carded a 59 during his time on the PGA Tour at the John Deere Classic.

A reminder, the 2015 U. S. Senior Open will be held at Sacramento's Del Paso Country Club. Tickets are on sale now at www.2015ussenioropen.com. Also, volunteer applications are available at the same website.
